Mission and Values

At Gungahlin Bible Church our MISSION is …
To help people find Jesus as their Saviour
To help people follow Jesus as their Lord
(Luke 19.10; Luke 9.23)

At Gungahlin Bible Church we VALUE

1. The Bible as God’s Word and our final authority

This means … the Bible directs, shapes and guides our church Gathering, fellowship, leadership and decisions
(2 Timothy 3.16 – 17; 1 Thessalonians 2.13; 1 Timothy 4.13)

2. Praying in light of God’s promises in the Bible

This means … we seek to pray often publicly and privately in accordance with God’s will and in Jesus’ Name
(Matthew 18.19 – 20; 1 John 5.14 – 15; 1 Timothy 2.1 – 3)

3. Gathering together as God’s family in Jesus

This means … we prioritise our weekly time together as a large group (Sunday mornings) and in smaller groups (Fellowship Groups), seeking to welcome, minister and care for all ages and stages of life and nationalities
(Hebrews 10.24 – 25; Colossians 3.16 – 17; Revelation 7.9 – 10)

4. Speaking and living out the Gospel of grace

This means … we invite others to hear the Good News concerning the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and to place their personal trust in Him for salvation. Our witness to the Gospel must also include good works, compassion and love in action.
(Matthew 4.19; Romans 10.13 – 17; James 2.14 – 26)

5. Supporting Global Missions and the Gospel to all Nations

This means … we pray for the spread of the Gospel around the world and for the persecuted church, and we financially support the work of global mission, encouraging people to go as God leads them
(Genesis 12.1 – 3; Matthew 28.18 – 20; 3 John 5 – 8)

6. Every Member Ministry

This means … God has given His people various gifts and talents and they should be used to build Christ’s Body in love and to maturity
(Ephesians 4.12 – 13; Romans 12.4 – 8; 1 Peter 4.10 – 11)

7. Growing together as followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, eagerly awaiting His return and giving God the glory

This means … we take discipleship seriously, letting the Holy Spirit shape and change us into Christ-likeness and giving praise to God
(2 Peter 3.18; Colossians 2.6 – 7; Philippians 1.6)
